Frances Peterson - Soprano Frances is a San Francisco native, has enjoyed classical music from her earliest days. Discovering her love of musical theater at a young age, she pursued performing through high school and college, eventually earning a Bachelor of Theater from San Francisco State University. Desiring to further her musical education, Miss Peterson was accepted into the prestigious Vocal Performance program at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and was awarded her Bachelor of Music Degree in Classical Voice, with honors in May of 2000. Frances also studied in Rome, Italy in the International Opera Academy of Rome and performed in the New Rome Opera Festival under the direction of Maestro Stefano Vignati. She has performed in Master Classes with Thomas Hampson, Ruth Ann Swenson, Patricia Craig, Evelyn Mandac, Fedora Barbieri, Marilyn Tyler, Ryan Edwards, Sylvia Anderson, Kathryn Kathkart, Jeffrey Thomas, and Nico Castel. Frances was also a soloist in the Sing It Yourself Messiah at Davies Symphony Hall for two years, and was invited to sing at the Vatican in 2004 by the office of then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI. Currently, Frances works, teaches voice and performs independently in the Bay Area. In 2005, Frances completed recording an album of new songs to help raise money for Bosnian and Albanian orphans with the twice Emmy Award winning producer Tom Disher for the charity La Madre de Los Pobres. She is thrilled to have performed for the new Prefect of the Vatican, William Cardinal Levada on his eventful departure from San Francisco. |
